Royal Challengers Bengaluru Clinches IPL Title After 18 Years
RCB's Historic Victory in IPL 2025
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru has finally broken their 18-year title drought by winning the IPL championship in the 2025 season. The thrilling final match was held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Virat Kohli was the standout performer for RCB, scoring 43 runs, while the rest of the batting lineup struggled to make significant contributions. With support from Mayank Aggarwal (24), Rajat Patidar (25), Liam Livingstone (25), and Jitesh Sharma (24), RCB managed to post a total of 190 runs, losing 9 wickets in the process. After an early dismissal of Phil Salt, Kohli attempted to stabilize the innings but was eventually dismissed by Azmatullah Omarzai.

The Punjab bowlers performed admirably, with Kyle Jamieson and Arshdeep Singh each taking 3 wickets, which significantly hampered RCB's innings. Yuzvendra Chahal, Azmatullah Omarzai, and Vijaykumar Vyshak each contributed with a wicket, ensuring that no bowler left the field without a wicket.
Punjab's opening pair, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh, started strong but lost Arya before the powerplay concluded. Other than Josh Inglis, who scored 39 runs, the batting lineup struggled. The situation worsened when captain Shreyas Iyer was dismissed for just 1 run. Shashank Singh made a notable effort with a score of 61 runs, but Marcus Stoinis was unable to make a significant impact.
