Punjab Kings' Heartbreaking Loss in IPL 2025 Final

In a thrilling IPL 2025 Final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Punjab Kings faced off against Royal Challengers Bengaluru but fell short by a mere 6 runs. The captain of Punjab Kings, Shreyas Iyer, expressed his disappointment following the narrow defeat.

"While I am disappointed, I must commend our team's performance. Much credit goes to the management and every player involved. Given our last match here, I believed a score of 200 was achievable. The bowling was exceptional, particularly Krunal, whose experience proved pivotal. I am proud of our team, especially the young players who participated in their first season. Their fearless attitude was remarkable. We still have work to do, and our goal is to secure the title next year. The experience gained this season will be invaluable moving forward," Iyer stated.

Krunal Pandya was highlighted as the standout performer for RCB, taking two vital wickets while conceding only 17 runs. His impressive performance earned him the 'Player of the Match' title, marking his second such accolade in an IPL Final.

Despite PBKS's commendable effort in limiting RCB to a target of 190, the RCB bowlers, including Krunal Pandya, Yash Dayal, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, rose to the occasion. The Challengers secured the championship with a slim 6-run victory, even as Shashank Singh's late-game heroics, hitting Josh Hazlewood for sixes and fours in the final over, ultimately fell short.
