His last rites are scheduled for June 20 at the Oshiwara crematorium in Mumbai. Lagoo was previously married to the well-known actress Reema Lagoo, with whom he shares a daughter, Mrunmayee Lagoo Waikul, who has also made a name for herself in the film industry.

MY DAD! My best friend, my guide, my number one fan, and the voice in my head… I will miss you… the best dad a girl can have."
