US Emphasizes Protection of Forces Amid Israel's Actions Against Iran

US Response to Israel's Military Actions
On Friday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio characterized Iran's military actions as 'unilateral' and emphasized that the primary focus of the US is to safeguard American forces stationed in the region. He noted that Israel justified its strikes as necessary for self-defense.
Rubio stated, 'This evening, Israel undertook unilateral measures against Iran. The US is not participating in these strikes, and our foremost priority is the protection of American personnel in the area. Israel has informed us that they deemed this action essential for their self-defense. The Trump Administration has implemented all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our forces and is maintaining close communication with our regional allies. It is imperative that Iran refrains from targeting US interests or personnel.'

Earlier, President Donald Trump reiterated the US's commitment to finding a diplomatic solution regarding Iran.
In a message on Truth Social, he remarked, 'We are dedicated to achieving a Diplomatic Resolution concerning the Iran Nuclear Issue! My entire Administration has been instructed to engage in negotiations with Iran. They have the potential to be a Great Country, but they must first abandon any aspirations of acquiring a Nuclear Weapon. Thank you for your attention to this matter!'
The State Department has urged US citizens to remain vigilant and stay updated with local news.
In a statement on X, the State Department advised, 'Given the heightened tensions in the Middle East, the security situation is complex and can evolve rapidly. We remind US citizens in Israel and the surrounding areas to exercise caution and keep abreast of news for any significant developments.'
According to reports from The Times of Israel, Israel's military operations against Iran have reportedly resulted in the elimination of key figures, including Iran's military chief, Mohammad Bagheri, and prominent nuclear scientists. A defense official indicated that the likelihood of their deaths is 'increasing.'
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) anticipate that their campaign against Iran's nuclear ambitions and long-range missile capabilities will extend over several days. They are preparing for potential retaliation from Iran following their airstrikes. Military officials assert, 'By the conclusion of this operation, there will be no nuclear threat from Iran.'
IDF officials declared, 'We are at a critical juncture. We have reached a point of no return, and action must be taken now.'
