After the discussions, McCormick stated, "We anticipated a remarkable meeting, and it truly was. We exchanged fantastic ideas and have a strong synergy. I am excited about the future of our countries." He further noted, "Our friendship will evolve into a robust alliance, which is crucial for the future of the world."

Bipartisan Support for India’s Stance on Terrorism

Ro Khanna, another Congressman and Bipartisan co-chair of the India Caucus, remarked that the all-party delegation showcased India's diversity and unity against terrorism, specifically condemning acts from Pakistan.

He stated, "This delegation was exceptional as it represented India's pluralism and multi-party system, united in the belief that Pakistan's terrorist actions cannot be tolerated. The US is committed to supporting India in dismantling these terrorist networks."

The meeting included discussions with Khanna, McCormick, and other Caucus members, where the delegation briefed them on the challenges of cross-border terrorism and India's firm stance against it.

Strengthening Ties Through Dialogue

Tharoor shared that US Congress members displayed strong support for India's position regarding the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. He noted McCormick's enthusiasm about the future of India-US relations, particularly concerning economic and strategic global issues.

After his discussions with Khanna and other Congress members, Tharoor expressed satisfaction with the support received, stating, "We are leaving this meeting feeling positive about the conversations held regarding the tragic events in Pahalgam."

The delegation, which included various Members of Parliament, reflects India's democratic diversity and aims to strengthen ties with US stakeholders.

Upcoming Engagements and Diplomatic Initiatives

The all-party delegation arrived in Washington, DC, to engage with key US stakeholders, including members of Congress and various think tanks. They plan to discuss India's Operation Sindoor, a diplomatic initiative aimed at countering terrorism and misinformation following recent attacks.

Upon arrival, Tharoor was welcomed by Indian-American police officers and participated in an interview with CBS News. This visit follows their trip to Belgium and is part of India's broader diplomatic outreach.

The initiative, launched on May 7, responds to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which resulted in significant casualties and injuries.
