Trump Denies Early Departure from G7 Summit Amid Peace Deal Speculations

Trump's Response to G7 Summit Departure Rumors
President Donald Trump has dismissed claims that he left the G7 summit in Canada prematurely to negotiate a peace agreement between Israel and Iran. He also criticized French President Emmanuel Macron for making such assertions.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated, “Emmanuel Macron, the publicity-seeking President of France, incorrectly claimed that I departed the G7 Summit to return to Washington, D.C. to work on a 'ceasefire' between Israel and Iran. This is incorrect! He has no understanding of my reasons for heading back to Washington, which are unrelated to a ceasefire. It’s much more significant than that. Emmanuel consistently gets it wrong, whether intentionally or not. Stay tuned!”
Previously, a report indicated that Macron informed reporters at the G7 summit about Trump's proposal for a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.
Macron mentioned, “An offer has been made, particularly to establish a ceasefire and initiate broader discussions. If the United States can facilitate a ceasefire, it would be a positive development, and France will support it.”
Trump had earlier urged on Truth Social for the evacuation of Iran and strongly opposed the idea of Iran acquiring nuclear weapons. He remarked, “Iran should have accepted the 'deal' I proposed. It’s a tragedy and a waste of human life. Simply put, Iran cannot possess a nuclear weapon. I have reiterated this multiple times! Everyone should evacuate Tehran immediately!”
He added, “America First encompasses many important principles, including the fact that Iran must not have a nuclear weapon. Let’s make America great again.”
Meanwhile, the G7 leaders, during their summit in Canada, released a statement addressing the ongoing conflict in West Asia, reaffirming their dedication to peace while supporting Israel's right to self-defense.
The statement read, “We, the G7 leaders, reaffirm our commitment to peace and stability in the Middle East. In this regard, we acknowledge Israel's right to defend itself and emphasize the importance of civilian protection.”
Additionally, the G7 nations identified Iran as a primary source of instability and terrorism in the region.
“Iran is the main source of regional instability and terror. We have consistently stated that Iran must never possess a nuclear weapon. We hope that resolving the Iranian crisis will lead to a broader de-escalation of hostilities in the Middle East, including a ceasefire in Gaza. We will remain vigilant regarding the implications for international energy markets and are prepared to coordinate with like-minded partners to ensure market stability,” the G7 leaders concluded.
