South Africa is gearing up to take on Australia in the pivotal World Test Championship final at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground. Captain Temba Bavuma revealed the playing XI during a press conference, expressing confidence in his team's chances of clinching victory. Addressing the situation surrounding Kagiso Rabada and his recent drug ban, Bavuma stated that Rabada had openly communicated with the squad, answering all questions from teammates. He emphasized that they have moved past that incident and are now focused on the upcoming match against Australia.

Bavuma's Insights on Rabada's Situation

Bavuma remarked, "In recent weeks, as everything has unfolded, discussions have taken place. He spoke to the team and made himself available for any further questions from me or the players. As far as we are concerned, that matter is behind us now. We are here with a clear focus on our objectives."

He further added, "I believe he is in the best shape he has ever been. The fact that we are facing Australia adds extra motivation for him. Overall, he is in a very positive mindset."

Details on Kagiso Rabada's Drug Ban

Kagiso Rabada faced a one-month suspension from cricket after testing positive for cocaine, as confirmed by the South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport (SAIDS), which adheres to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) regulations. The results of failed drug tests are typically disclosed one month after the appeal period for the athletes concludes. On June 3, SAIDS announced that Rabada's test results showed the presence of Benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine. This substance is produced when cocaine is processed in the liver and is subsequently excreted in urine.
