A Dark Day for Tata Group
Describing June 12 as "one of the darkest days in the Tata Group's history," Chandrasekaran expressed, "Words cannot provide comfort at this moment, but my thoughts are with the families and friends of those who lost their lives or were injured in this tragedy. We stand with them during this difficult time." The Tata Group acquired Air India in January 2022.
A Call for Patience
Recognizing the confusion surrounding the crash's cause, he encouraged employees to remain patient and assured them that the details would be disclosed. I urge you to be patient," he stated.
Commitment to Transparency
Chandrasekaran emphasized the significant loss of life, stating, "Understanding why this routine flight turned into a disaster will be clarified by trained investigators once their work concludes. We will communicate transparently about the circumstances surrounding this tragedy once we have verified information."
Investigative Efforts Underway
He noted that investigative teams from India, the UK, and the US have arrived in Ahmedabad to probe the incident. "They have our complete cooperation, and we will be fully transparent regarding their findings. We owe this to the families, our pilots, and crew, as well as to you," Chandrasekaran remarked. "The Tata Group is committed to its societal responsibilities, which includes being forthright about what happened yesterday."
Safety as a Priority
Reiterating the Group's commitment to safety, he stated, "Since taking over Air India, ensuring passenger safety has been our utmost priority. There can be no compromise on this matter."
