Latest Updates on the Murder Case

In a recent turn of events regarding the murder of Sheetal Simmi Chaudhary, the Haryana Police are set to present the suspect, a friend of Sheetal, in court on Tuesday. The individual, identified as Sunil, was apprehended last night in connection with the investigation. Following the remand, authorities will initiate further inquiries. Sunil hails from Israna, a village located in Panipat. Tragically, the body of Haryanvi model Sheetal was discovered in a water canal in the Kharkhoda region of Sonipat district on Sunday. Her family had reported her missing at the Matlauda police station on June 15.

Police Statement on the Investigation

According to DSP Headquarters, Satish Vats, a woman from Satkartar Colony in Panipat filed a complaint on June 15, stating that she has five siblings, including her fourth sister, Sheetal (24), who was a model in Haryanvi music videos. Sheetal had gone to Ahar village for a shoot on May 14 and failed to return. Despite their efforts to locate her, the family was unsuccessful.

In response to the complaint, police registered a case under section 127(6) of the BNS and commenced a search. On Monday morning, authorities discovered a woman's body in a canal near Kharkhoda, which was later confirmed to be Sheetal's. After a post-mortem examination, her remains were returned to her family.

The police have charged Sunil with murder. During initial questioning, he confessed to killing Sheetal with a knife. To evade capture after the crime, he fabricated a story about a car accident into the canal.

DSP Vats mentioned that the accused will be presented in court today, where he will undergo thorough interrogation to uncover the motive behind Sheetal's murder. The Haryana Police are also actively searching for the knife used in the crime.
