Rishabh Pant's Remarkable Achievement

Rishabh Pant, the wicket-keeper batsman for the Indian National Cricket Team, has made headlines with his exceptional performance in the opening Test of the five-match series against England. On June 25, the ICC released the latest Test Rankings for batters, where Pant climbed to the 7th position with a total of 801 rating points.



Pant Becomes the First Indian Keeper to Cross 800 Rating Points


In the first Test match at Headingley, Leeds, Pant scored two centuries. He showcased his unique batting style, scoring 134 runs off 178 balls in the first innings, which significantly contributed to India's total of 471 runs despite a challenging situation.


In his second innings, Pant displayed a different approach, batting through the 90s before reaching his century off 130 balls. He became only the second wicketkeeper-batsman in history to score twin centuries in a Test match, following in the footsteps of Andy Flower.


His outstanding performance has propelled him to the 7th spot in the ICC Test Batting Rankings, marking him as the first Indian wicketkeeper-batsman to achieve 800 rating points in the history of Test cricket.


Ben Duckett Climbs to No. 8 in Rankings

England's opener, Ben Duckett, has made a significant leap, moving up five places to the 8th position in the Test batting rankings after his impressive performance in the Leeds Test against India, where he was named Player of the Match. He now holds a career-high of 787 rating points. Other notable advancements include Ollie Pope, who moved up two spots to 19th, and Jamie Smith, who climbed seven places to 27th. Shubman Gill also made a five-place jump to 20th overall.


In addition to the performances of England and Indian players, Mushfiqur Rahim rose 11 places to the 28th rank, while Najmul Hossain Shanto climbed 21 spots to secure the 29th position following their strong performances against Sri Lanka.
