Rath Yatra 2025 Traffic Advisory: On Wednesday, the Puri Police released a detailed traffic advisory in anticipation of the Rath Yatra festivities scheduled for June 27, 2025. With a significant influx of devotees expected to participate in the grand procession in Puri, Odisha, the advisory specifies various traffic restrictions and diversions aimed at maintaining smooth traffic flow during this important event. The guidelines indicate that different types of vehicles will face restrictions based on their approach from three distinct directions to prevent congestion.
Brahmagiri Side (Four Wheelers)
- Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) arriving from the Brahmagiri direction can park at the Sterling area via Mangalaghat and Sterling Chhaka.
- Drivers of LMVs can park sequentially along the Sterling Chhaka road, including both sides and at Saha College Parking.
Bhubaneshwar Side (Four Wheelers)
- LMVs coming from Bhubaneswar will be permitted to park at designated areas on the Talabania side via Malatipatapur ROB, Baidas Nagar, and Grid Station.
- Parking is available at OLA Guest House, Helipad, ITI College parking, Indoor Stadium, Horticulture field, and Hygienic Fish Market.
- Note: Once the parking areas at Talabania are full, LMVs will be redirected to Sterling side parking via Malatipatapur – Batagaon – Mangalaghat.
Konark Side (Four Wheelers)
- Vehicles from the Konark side can park at Talabania via Balighai, Baidas Nagar, and Grid Station.
- Available parking includes OLA Guest House, Helipad, ITI College parking, Indoor Stadium, Horticulture field, and Hygienic Fish Market.
Shuttle Service (Three Wheelers)
- Three-wheelers from Talabania will be redirected to Ghoda Bazar via Water Works Road, Odisha Bakery, and Ram Mandir. After dropping off passengers, they will return via Ram Mandir, Shreekhestra Colony, and Mangala Mandir to Talabania.
- From Malatipatpur, three-wheelers will be allowed up to Atharanala via Batagaon Chhaka and will return via the same route after dropping off passengers.
- Vehicles from Brahmagiri will be permitted up to Sterling via Mangalaghat and will return the same way after passenger drop-off.
