President Droupadi Murmu Moved by Students' Heartfelt Birthday Song

On Friday, President Droupadi Murmu was deeply touched during a performance by students from the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (NIEPVD) in Dehradun. Celebrating her 67th birthday, the President attended an event where the students surprised her with a heartfelt rendition of a birthday song, which included the lyrics, 'Baar-Baar din ye aaye, baar-baar dil ye gaaye, aap jiye hazaro saal, ye meri hai aarzoo.' The occasion was also graced by Uttarakhand's Governor, Lt General Gurmit Singh (Retd), and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
The emotional moment unfolded as the President was visibly moved by the students' performance, prompting an officer to offer her a handkerchief. This touching gesture became the highlight of the event.

In her address to the students, President Murmu praised their performance, stating, 'It seemed they were singing with their hearts, not just their voices.' Holding back tears, she expressed, 'The tears did not stop from my eyes. It felt as if they were singing from their hearts, as if God himself resided in their voices.'
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also conveyed his birthday wishes to the President, hoping for her long and healthy life. He remarked on social media, 'Warmest birthday wishes to Rashtrapati Ji. Her life and leadership continue to inspire millions across the nation. Her steadfast dedication to public service, social justice, and inclusive development serves as a beacon of hope for all. May she be blessed with a long and healthy life in service of the people.'
