Modi's Concern Over Iran's Situation

In light of the recent US military actions targeting Iran's nuclear facilities, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Sunday. He conveyed his serious apprehensions regarding the escalating tensions in the region and stressed the importance of immediate diplomatic discussions to ease the situation.

On the social media platform X, PM Modi shared, "Had a detailed conversation with President of Iran @drpezeshkian. I expressed my deep concerns regarding the recent escalations."

PM Modi highlighted the necessity for a peaceful resolution, reiterating, "We must focus on immediate de-escalation, dialogue, and diplomacy to restore regional peace, security, and stability."

On Saturday, US President Trump addressed the White House, announcing that the US had executed "precise and large-scale" strikes on Iran. He cautioned that further actions would be taken if peace is not upheld. In response, Iran condemned these strikes, labeling them as violations of international law, and reaffirmed its commitment to its nuclear ambitions.

The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) issued a statement early Sunday, describing the attacks on its nuclear sites as "savage aggression" and a breach of international laws, particularly the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). They criticized the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for its indifference and complicity in these actions.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commended Trump's military actions, suggesting that targeting Iranian nuclear sites could alter the historical trajectory of the region. The conflict between Israel and Iran has now entered its ninth day, with the US openly supporting Israel. Meanwhile, India is actively working to evacuate its citizens stranded in Iran, with several flights organized for this purpose.
