Pawan Kalyan Criticizes Arrest of Influencer Sharmistha Panoli Over Secularism Issues

Pawan Kalyan's Strong Response to Arrest
The Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, has expressed his disapproval regarding the detention of social media influencer Sharmistha Panoli. Her arrest by West Bengal police was linked to a controversial communal post she made. Kalyan referenced comments made by West Bengal's Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, emphasizing that 'secularism should be reciprocal'.
In a post on X, Kalyan stated, 'During Operation Sindoor, Sharmistha, who is a law student, made statements that were regrettable and hurtful to some individuals. She acknowledged her error, removed the video, and issued an apology. The West Bengal Police acted promptly in addressing the situation.'
He further questioned the lack of response to the pain caused to many when leaders from the Trinamool Congress (TMC) ridicule Sanatana Dharma. Kalyan asked, 'Where is the outrage when our faith is disparaged as 'Gandha Dharm'? Why is there no apology or immediate action taken against them?'
Kalyan concluded by asserting that blasphemy should always be condemned and that secularism should not serve as a protective barrier for some while being a weapon against others. He urged the West Bengal Police to ensure justice for everyone, stating, 'The nation is observing your actions.'
