NIA Conducts Extensive Raids in Jammu and Kashmir to Disrupt Terror Networks

NIA's Coordinated Operations Against Terrorism
On Thursday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) executed synchronized searches at 32 different sites across Jammu and Kashmir, focusing on terror conspiracy networks allegedly supported by Pakistan, which aim to undermine the region's stability and communal harmony.
These operations, which took place early in the morning, covered several districts including Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama, and Sopore. The raids were based on specific intelligence related to a case that was registered in 2022. Officials involved in the operation indicated that the searches were aimed at Overground Workers (OGWs) linked to various banned terrorist organizations operating in the Union Territory.
The main goal of these searches was to dismantle the existing terror infrastructure, disrupt infiltration strategies, and prevent the radicalization of local youth by terrorist groups and their affiliates. Additionally, the operation sought to sever the logistics and communication networks utilized by these organizations.
During the raids, authorities confiscated various incriminating items, including digital devices, documents, and other evidence from locations associated with hybrid terrorists, sympathizers, and members of notorious groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), and Al-Badr, along with their splinter groups like The Resistance Front (TRF), United Liberation Front Jammu and Kashmir (ULFJ&K), Mujahideen Gazwat-ul-Hind (MGH), JK Freedom Fighters (JKFF), Kashmir Tigers, and PAFF.
The NIA had previously initiated a suo moto case on June 21, 2022, aimed at uncovering and dismantling the terror network operating within Jammu and Kashmir, particularly focusing on newly formed splinter groups and affiliates of banned organizations. These ongoing investigations are part of a larger initiative to mitigate the threats posed by these groups and ensure peace in the Union Territory.
