Maruti Suzuki Dzire Achieves Impressive Safety Ratings in Bharat NCAP Tests

Maruti Suzuki's Commitment to Safety
Maruti Suzuki, often criticized for producing lighter vehicles, has taken significant steps to address safety concerns. The latest model, the Maruti Suzuki Swift, has successfully passed the Bharat NCAP crash test, which is India's equivalent of the Euro NCAP, assessing vehicle safety during accidents.
Testing Details of the New Dzire
The model evaluated was the All New Maruti Dzire Gasoline -LXI 1.2L ISS 5MT, equipped with front airbags, side curtain airbags, side chest airbags, belt pretensioners, and ISOFIX. Additional safety features included pedestrian protection and a seat belt reminder.
Adult Occupant Protection Ratings
In the adult occupant safety tests, the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire earned a remarkable 5-star rating, achieving a total score of 29.46 out of 32. It scored 14.17 out of 16 in the frontal offset deformable barrier test and 15.29 out of 16 in the side movable deformable barrier test.
Frontal Crash Test Results
The frontal crash test results indicated that while the driver's protection was marginal, the safety for other areas was rated as good and adequate. Similar findings were observed in the side barrier and side pole impact tests.
Child Protection Ratings
In the child protection crash test, the Dzire scored an impressive 41.57 out of 49 points, with a dynamic score of 23.57 out of 24. It also received full marks for CRS installation, scoring 12 out of 12.
