This region is known for its susceptibility to landslides, particularly during the monsoon and the preceding months, prompting travelers to exercise caution.
The Rudraprayag Police in Uttarakhand announced on their social media platform that the route to Kedarnath Dham has been compromised due to falling debris and stones in the ravine near Jangalchatti. Consequently, the pathway from Sonprayag to Kedarnath Dham has been temporarily closed until further notice. Authorities are ensuring robust security measures for pilgrims using the footpath, including those who had already embarked on their journey to Kedarnath Dham before the damage occurred.
