Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Addresses Bengaluru Stampede Incident

Karnataka CM Responds to Stampede Tragedy
On Wednesday, Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated that he would not justify the recent stampede by making comparisons to similar incidents, such as those that occurred during the Kumbh Mela.
He remarked, "Such events have taken place in various locations; I will not defend this incident by drawing parallels and stating that it has happened here and there... 50-60 individuals lost their lives at Kumbh Mela. I did not voice any criticism. If the Congress party chooses to criticize, that is a separate issue. Did I or the Karnataka government express any disapproval?"

Siddaramaiah further stated, "I do not wish to defend this occurrence. Our administration will refrain from politicizing this matter. I have mandated a magisterial inquiry, allowing a period of 15 days for it. Attendees even broke the stadium gates. A stampede occurred, which was unexpected given the turnout. The stadium can accommodate only 35,000 people, yet 2-3 lakh individuals attended."
