Jim Sarbh's Challenge in Learning Telugu

During the launch event for the song from Kuberaa in Mumbai, actor Jim Sarbh revealed one of the significant hurdles he encountered while working on the film: mastering Telugu from the ground up. Renowned for his intense performances and meticulous approach, Jim emphasized the importance of not just memorizing his dialogues but also comprehending the meaning behind each word.

He stated, “The main challenge was learning my lines since I don’t speak Telugu. It required considerable time and effort, as I prefer to understand the meaning of each word rather than just recite sentences.”

Jim elaborated on the complexities of the Telugu language, noting its distinct structure and flow compared to English, which added to the challenge.

He explained, “In English, you might ask, ‘How many are there?’ but in Telugu, it could be phrased as, ‘Many are there, how?’ or something similar. Figuring out where to place ‘how’ in the sentence was a task that required time and effort.”

Kuberaa, produced by Suniel Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao under Sri Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations Pvt Ltd, also sees co-production from Vipul Agarwal and Manish Vasisth. The film is presented by Mugafi in North India and handles its distribution in the region.

Directed by the acclaimed Sekhar Kammula, Kuberaa features a star-studded cast including Nagarjuna Akkineni, Dhanush, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and Dalip Tahil. With music composed by Devi Sri Prasad (DSP), the film is set to be released in five languages: Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.

The theatrical release of Kuberaa is scheduled for June 20, 2025.
