Jagan Mohan Reddy's Legal Appeal

On Thursday, Jagan Mohan Reddy, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and leader of YSR Congress Party, approached the High Court to contest allegations that he was intentionally implicated in the death of a man who was struck by his vehicle.

Statement of Innocence

In his legal appeal, Jagan asserted his innocence, claiming he is being wrongfully accused. He requested the court to dismiss the charges against him and included a written statement from the family of Cheeli Sangaaya, a party worker.

The tragic incident occurred when Jagan's bulletproof car hit the victim during a recent visit to Rentapalla village in Guntur district, drawing considerable public scrutiny and controversy.

Police Investigation Underway

As part of the investigation, police confiscated the vehicle involved in the incident on Tuesday evening. The YSR Congress Party contends that the allegations are politically motivated and is pursuing legal avenues to have the charges dismissed.

In a related development, Jagan Mohan Reddy has intensified his criticism of the NDA coalition government, announcing a five-week initiative titled 'Recalling Chandrababu's Manifesto.' This program aims to engage the public with the coalition's election promises and highlight its failures.

Highlighting Government Failures

During a comprehensive meeting with party MPs, MLAs, and regional coordinators on Wednesday, Jagan detailed strategies to emphasize the government's shortcomings by referencing the manifesto and informing citizens about their unmet expectations. He launched the initiative with a QR code, aiming to illustrate the negative impact of Chandrababu Naidu's tenure on families and the potential future consequences. Jagan emphasized the importance of communicating this message to every household, reaching down to the village level.
