The unexpected death of industrialist Sunjay Kapur has left his friends and family in shock. He suffered a heart attack at the age of 53 while playing polo. Following his passing, his final message on social media regarding a tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad has garnered significant attention.
In his heartfelt post, he expressed sorrow over the incident, stating, "Terrible news of the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad. My thoughts and prayers are with all the families affected. May they find strength in this difficult hour. #planecrash."
A Leader in the Automotive Industry
Sunjay Kapur held the position of chairman at Sona Comstar and was a well-known figure in the automotive sector. He also served as the Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Northern Region, overseeing operations in states like Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and three Union Territories.
His personal life included a marriage to designer Nandita Mahtani, which lasted two years before they parted ways. In 2003, he married actress Karisma Kapoor, with whom he had two children. They divorced in 2016 but maintained a cooperative parenting relationship.
After his separation from Karisma, he married model Priya Sachdev, and the couple welcomed a son shortly after their wedding.
