IndiGo Airlines has released a travel advisory following persistent rainfall that has disrupted flight operations. The airline cautioned passengers about potential delays and recommended arriving at the airport on time due to reports of sluggish traffic. Various regions in Maharashtra, including Mumbai, Pune, and Navi Mumbai, experienced both heavy and light rain on Monday morning. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for significant rainfall in Mumbai today. Footage from Mumbai and surrounding areas depicted the city soaked in rain and long lines of vehicles.
IndiGo posted on X, stating, “Currently, there is heavy rainfall over #Mumbai, leading to temporary disruptions in flight schedules. If you are traveling today, please be mindful of possible delays and allocate extra time for your journey, especially since traffic is moving slower than usual. We are closely monitoring the situation and will ensure you take off as soon as possible. Please verify your flight status on our app or website before heading out.”

In related news, the IMD has reported that the Northern Limit of Monsoon is currently passing through several locations including Mumbai, Ahilyanagar, Adilabad, Bhawanipatna, Puri, Sandhead Island, and others. The department indicated that conditions are becoming favorable for the further progression of the Southwest monsoon over parts of Gujarat, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha in the next 24 hours, as well as over parts of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, and East Uttar Pradesh in the following three days.
