Scholarship Opportunities at IIT Roorkee

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee is offering a variety of scholarships aimed at supporting students pursuing undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) degrees in engineering, architecture, applied sciences, and planning.


Recognized as one of India's premier institutes, IIT Roorkee provides undergraduate programs across 10 disciplines and postgraduate courses in 55 fields. Additionally, there are opportunities for research and PhD studies available in various departments.


Key Scholarships Available:


The James Thomason Scholarship is designated for students enrolled in BTech, BArch, Integrated Dual Degree (IDD), Integrated MSc (IMS), and BS-MS programs. Eligibility is based on admission through JEE (Advanced) with an All India Rank of up to 250.


The Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship offers UG students a stipend of ₹1,000 per month for 10 months, along with a refund of the remaining fees, contingent on academic performance and financial need.


The Dr. S.K. Goel and Mrs. Kusum Goel Scholarship provides ₹2 lakh annually to four economically disadvantaged UG students who gain admission to the institute.


The INSPIRE SHE Scholarship, funded by the Department of Science & Technology, supports top-performing science students from Class 12 board exams or those who have cleared JEE, NEET, or KVPY exams. This scholarship extends from UG to PG studies, assisting students in science disciplines at recognized institutions.


Additionally, two engineering students facing academic challenges will receive a special scholarship of ₹1,000 each year, with a requirement of maintaining a minimum CGPA of 7.0 to continue receiving the benefit.


These scholarships are fundamentally aimed at recognizing academic excellence and ensuring that deserving students receive the support they need.
