In an effort to boost tourism and show support for the armed forces and local communities, the Directorate of Tourism in Jammu has initiated a series of celebrity visits. The first celebrity to participate in this initiative was the acclaimed Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi, who traveled to Jammu to promote messages of peace, resilience, and hope. During her stay, Qureshi held an exclusive meeting with representatives from the Jammu and Katra Hotel and Restaurant Associations.
The stakeholders urged her to highlight Jammu's stunning landscapes, warm hospitality, and rich cultural heritage through her social media and public appearances. They stressed that endorsements from celebrities could significantly help restore tourist confidence and increase visitor numbers in the area.
Additionally, the actress paid a visit to the family of the late Raj Kumar Thapa, the Additional District Development Commissioner of Rajouri, who lost his life in a recent attack. She expressed her condolences to the grieving family and honored his sacrifice for the country.
Later that evening, a cultural event was held at the Indo-Pak border in Suchetgarh, symbolizing national unity and pride. The program featured local cultural performances and included heartfelt interactions with Army and BSF personnel, as well as families affected by recent events, to honor the bravery of soldiers and show support for their families.
