Controversy Surrounds Housefull 5's Laal Pari

As Housefull 5 enjoys significant box office success, it has recently faced criticism from dancer and content creator Sandip Brahamin. He claims that the film's song Laal Pari has copied his distinctive 'hat move' without giving him any acknowledgment.

Sandip shared a viral reel where he expressed, "You all have seen my signature moves. My move has been replicated in the Housefull 5 song Laal Pari. Many friends reached out to me after watching the video. I checked Instagram and YouTube, but there’s no mention or credit. I’m unsure what’s going on."

In response to these allegations, director Tarun Mansukhani stated to a media outlet, "I did come across some information regarding this. Honestly, I hadn’t seen his videos prior to this. I only learned about it after the song was released. I discovered that the step we included is a hook step he is recognized for." He further mentioned, "I’m certain someone must have seen it somewhere and thought it was a great step to incorporate, and we did just that."

The choreography for the song was done by Remo D’Souza, featuring stars like Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Nargis Fakhri, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Sonam Bajwa.

Tarun added that had he known about Sandip beforehand, he would have invited him to choreograph the step, stating, "There was no intention to harm or steal from anyone. Life isn’t that malicious. If I had known him earlier, I would have brought him in to choreograph the song for my actors. Who better to choreograph Laal Pari than its creator?"

He emphasized, "There was no intention of plagiarism. It’s just one of those situations that occurred. We sincerely apologize if he feels that way. I want to stress that there was no intention to cause any harm whatsoever."

Previously, the film's teaser made headlines after being removed from YouTube due to a copyright claim by Mofusion Studios concerning the song Laal Pari.

Despite the ongoing controversy, Laal Pari, sung by Yo Yo Honey Singh and Simar Kaur, has become a viral hit, and Housefull 5 continues to perform well at the box office. The film has surpassed Rs 100 crore in India and, according to the director, has grossed Rs 178 crore globally.
