First Female Batch In 2022
The Passing Out Parade was reviewed by former Army Chief General V. K. Singh, who is also the current Governor of Mizoram. The first cohort of women cadets was admitted to the NDA in 2022, following a Supreme Court ruling in 2021 that allowed women to apply. Subsequently, the UPSC opened applications for female candidates to join the defence academy.
To commemorate this transformative moment in military education, General V. K. Singh launched a special magazine titled Breaking Barriers: Female Cadets during the event. This publication highlights the experiences, challenges, and achievements of the inaugural group of female cadets at the NDA.
