New Traffic Management Strategy in Shahberi

In response to the persistent traffic congestion in the Shahberi region of Greater Noida West, the Greater Noida Authority has introduced an alternative strategy known as 'Plan B'. This initiative has already led to the closure of six illegal road cuts. Additionally, efforts are underway to remove illegally constructed ramps, with survey work currently in progress. The demolition of these ramps is expected to commence shortly, aiming to provide relief from traffic jams in Shahberi once the plan is fully executed.

Ongoing Issues with Illegal Cuts

Despite the progress, five illegal cuts remain operational in Shahberi. These cuts allow vehicles to navigate from the wrong side, heightening the risk of accidents and complicating traffic flow. Although these cuts are currently open due to requests from local residents, the authority has indicated that they will be closed if deemed necessary.

Challenges on Shahberi Marg

The Shahberi Marg, which extends approximately 1.5 kilometers from the Iteda intersection to the crossing, has undergone widening. However, several electric poles still obstruct the road, contributing to traffic issues. The removal of these poles has begun, and once they and the illegal ramps are cleared, significant relief from traffic congestion is anticipated.

Authority's Assurance on Traffic Improvements

Prerna Singh, the Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Noida Authority, stated that the road widening connecting Ghaziabad and Greater Noida has been completed, resulting in improved traffic conditions compared to the past. She assured that any remaining issues will be addressed promptly.
