Greater Noida: 16-Year-Old's Body Discovered in Canal, Family Suspects Foul Play

Tragic Discovery of Missing Minor's Body
On June 10, the lifeless body of a 16-year-old boy, who had been reported missing from Jaitpur village in the Surajpur police jurisdiction of Greater Noida, was found floating in a canal in Jewar. The police located the body near a culvert in Dayanatpur village and have since sent it for a post-mortem examination.
The family is in turmoil following the grim discovery. They have accused the police of taking four days to locate the minor within the same district, raising suspicions of murder involving his friends.
Investigations revealed that Sunny Rawal, the missing boy from Jaitpur, had not been seen since June 10. His father, known as Hariom or Suka, lodged a missing person report at the Surajpur police station. Family members claim that the police did not actively search for Sunny, suggesting that if they had, he might have been found sooner. They believe the police merely registered the FIR to meet procedural requirements.
The family suspects that Sunny's friends may have been involved in his death. The police have initiated an inquiry into the situation, with relatives asserting that no substantial efforts were made to locate him after his disappearance, and there was a lack of surveillance.
They believe that had there been a more vigorous search, the outcome could have been different. After Sunny went missing, his relatives were unable to reach out to his friends. There are concerns that his body was disposed of in the canal post-murder, indicating a deliberate attempt to conceal the crime.
In response, the police have assured that they are thoroughly investigating all angles of the case, although no significant leads have emerged yet. They are optimistic that the case will be resolved soon.
