Diljit Dosanjh Faces Backlash for Collaborating with Pakistani Actress Hania Aamir

Controversy Surrounds Diljit Dosanjh's Film

Diljit Dosanjh is currently embroiled in controversy due to his collaboration with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in the film 'Sardaar Ji 3'. This backlash arises amidst heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam attack. Despite the filmmakers' clarification that the movie was shot with Hania prior to the incident, both Diljit and the production team have faced criticism. Notably, singer Mika Singh has publicly condemned Diljit for his association with Hania, labeling him a 'fake singer'.

Mika expressed his views on Instagram, stating, "As we all know, the current relationship between India and Pakistan is strained. Yet, some individuals continue to act without responsibility. Before releasing any projects featuring artists from across the border, they should reconsider, especially when it concerns our nation's pride."

He further remarked, "There was a film with Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor that many opposed, yet some still fail to grasp the situation. It's even more surprising that a so-called fake singer, after performing numerous shows in India and gaining thousands of fans, has now vanished, leaving them feeling betrayed and helpless."

In response to the backlash regarding Hania Aamir's role, Diljit shared his thoughts with the BBC Asian Network, saying, "When this film was made, the situation was fine. We filmed it in February when everything was okay. After that, many significant events occurred that were beyond our control. The producers decided that the film would not be released in India, so they opted for an overseas release. A considerable amount of money has been invested by the producers, and when the film was being made, there were no issues."

"They are aware that there will be financial losses due to the exclusion of an entire market. When I signed on for the film, everything was fine. Now, the circumstances are out of our hands. Therefore, if the producers wish to release it internationally, I support their decision," he added.

Sardaar Ji 3 also features Neeru Bajwa in a leading role, alongside Manav Vij, Gulshan Grover, Jasmin Bajwa, and Sapna Pabbi in significant parts.
