Cinematographer Pratik Shah has found himself at the center of a significant controversy following allegations of abusive behavior and inappropriate conduct. Known for his work on acclaimed projects such as Jubilee, CTRL, and Homebound, Shah's situation escalated when filmmaker Abhinav Singh labeled him as manipulative and emotionally abusive. Singh also revealed that numerous women have come forward with their distressing experiences involving Shah. In response to these serious allegations, the producers of Homebound, which recently debuted at the Cannes Film Festival 2025, released an official statement.

Producers' Statement on Allegations

As reported by ETimes, Dharma Productions issued a statement emphasizing their strict zero-tolerance policy regarding inappropriate behavior and sexual harassment. They stated, "At Dharma Productions, we take allegations of sexual harassment very seriously. Mr. Pratik Shah was a freelancer on the Homebound project for a limited duration, and his engagement with us has concluded. During this time, our internal committee for POSH did not receive any complaints against him from the cast or crew of 'Homebound'."

In light of the accusations, Pratik Shah has deactivated his Instagram account and has not yet publicly addressed the controversy.

Homebound recently premiered at the Cannes Film Festival 2025 and is yet to be released in India. Esteemed Hollywood director Martin Scorsese has joined the film as an executive producer. He expressed his admiration for the project, stating, "I watched Neeraj’s first film Masaan in 2015 and loved it. When Melita Toscan du Plantier presented me with the project for his second film, I was intrigued. I appreciated the story and culture and was eager to assist.
