BRS MLC K Kavitha Urges Sonia Gandhi to Honor Promises to Telangana Women and Elderly

Postcard Campaign for Women's Aid and Pension Increase

On Wednesday, K Kavitha, a Member of the Legislative Council from BRS and the founder of Telangana Jagruthi, spearheaded a postcard initiative at the Post Office in Abids. The postcards were directed to Sonia Gandhi, the Chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party, where she urged the Telangana government to deliver on its commitment of providing Rs 2500 to women and enhancing pensions for senior citizens.

In her remarks to the press, Kavitha stated, "During the Telangana assembly elections, the Congress party made six promises. The citizens of Telangana placed their trust in Sonia Gandhi, who endorsed the guarantee card. They assured that the pension of Rs 2000 would rise to Rs 4000, and the Rs 4000 pension would be increased to Rs 6000, along with a monthly aid of Rs 2500 for every woman in Telangana. However, after 18 months of Congress governance, these commitments remain unfulfilled. Therefore, we are dispatching thousands of letters to Sonia Gandhi, urging her to instruct CM Revnath Reddy to implement these promises."
