Ahmedabad Plane Crash: Former Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani Among Passengers

Air India Flight Incident in Ahmedabad
An Air India aircraft carrying 242 individuals met with an accident in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Among the passengers was former Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani, who was traveling on a flight destined for London that crashed in the Meghani Nagar region on Thursday.
Rescue and relief efforts are currently in progress at the crash site. Authorities are establishing a green corridor to facilitate the swift transportation of injured passengers to nearby hospitals for urgent medical care.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has been in communication with the Chief Minister of Gujarat, the Home Minister, and the Police Commissioner regarding the incident. He has also pledged support from the Central government.
The office of the Union Civil Aviation Minister stated, "Minister Rammohan Naidu, who was in Vijayawada, immediately headed to Ahmedabad upon learning of the crash. He is in ongoing discussions with senior officials from the DGCA, AAI, NDRF, and the Gujarat State administration to ensure a prompt and coordinated response. Rescue and medical teams are already on-site."
The Civil Aviation Minister expressed on social media, "I am shocked and heartbroken to hear about the flight crash in Ahmedabad. We are on high alert. I am personally overseeing the situation and have instructed all aviation and emergency response agencies to act swiftly and in coordination. Rescue teams have been deployed, and efforts are being made to ensure medical assistance and relief reach the site promptly. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected and their families."
