Eyewitness Account of the Tragic Incident

Aryan Ansari, a young observer of the devastating Air India Flight 171 crash in Ahmedabad on June 12, has recounted his experience of the tragic event. He inadvertently recorded the incident on his phone. Aryan mentioned that the aircraft was flying very close, prompting him to capture a video to share with his friends. He described how the plane descended, seemingly preparing to land due to its proximity to the airport. The footage he recorded quickly gained traction on social media.


Aryan's Testimony


In an interview, Aryan expressed his fear when the explosion occurred, which led him to alert his father and sister. He shared, "I arrived here on June 12. The plane was flying very close, so I decided to film it for my friends. As it descended, I thought it was about to land since the airport was nearby. However, flames erupted, and we realized it had exploded. I was terrified and showed the video to my sister and informed my father about it."




The tragic incident resulted in the loss of 241 lives when the Air India flight crashed near Ahmedabad airport on Thursday afternoon. The flight AI-171, which was headed to London, took off at 1:17 PM but began its descent shortly after. The aircraft collided with the BJ Medical College and Hospital, leading to additional casualties on the ground. Air India has confirmed the fatalities, with only one individual surviving the crash. The sole survivor, along with several injured, including MBBS students, is currently receiving medical care at Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad.


On Sunday, officials reported that four medical students from BJ Medical College and their relatives have succumbed to injuries, raising the total death toll from the flight disaster to 250.
