The narrative will focus on Elphaba, now branded as The Wicked Witch of the West, living in exile while fighting for the rights of Oz's oppressed Animals and seeking to reveal the truth about The Wizard. Meanwhile, Glinda is positioned as a beacon of hope for Oz and is preparing to marry Prince Fiyero.

In her struggle to reconcile with Elphaba, Glinda attempts to mediate between her friend and The Wizard, but her efforts are in vain, further straining their bond. This leads to an uprising against the Wicked Witch, necessitating a final reunion between Glinda and Elphaba.
