Netflix Announces Animated Series 'Stranger Things: Tales From '85' and 'In Your Dreams'

Netflix has revealed fresh insights regarding its forthcoming animated series titled 'Stranger Things: Tales From '85' and the anticipated film 'In Your Dreams' during a panel at the Annecy film festival.

This animated series takes place in Hawkins during the winter of 1985, situated between the second and third seasons of the live-action series. It will include beloved original characters alongside a new addition named Nikki, as they confront new monsters and delve into a supernatural mystery, according to reports.

Executive producers for the series include Matt and Ross Duffer, Shawn Levy, and Dan Cohen, with Eric Robles taking on the role of showrunner.

The animation style is influenced by classic Saturday morning cartoons like 'Masters of the Universe' and 'Scooby-Doo,' as well as contemporary works such as 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse' and 'Arcane.' The creature designs are crafted by Carlos Huante, recognized for his contributions to 'Blade Runner 2049' and 'Alien vs. Predator.'

'In Your Dreams' narrates the adventure of Stevie and her brother Elliot as they venture into the dream world to locate 'The Sandman' and mend their parents' relationship.

Directed by Alex Woo and Erik Benson, both former Pixar creators, the film showcases breathtaking visuals, including a whimsical setting known as Breakfast Town. Although a specific release date for 'Stranger Things: Tales From '85' has not been disclosed, it is anticipated to premiere next year. Meanwhile, 'In Your Dreams' is set to be released on November 14.
