16 Years Later: A Look Back at Jackky Bhagnani's Debut Film

Kal Kissne Dekha: A Mixed Bag of Entertainment
Released on June 12, 2009, Jackky Bhagnani's debut film, Kal Kissne Dekha, serves as a light-hearted yet often unfunny showcase of his talents. The writing fluctuates between attempts at humor and moments that fall flat.
The film features a charming protagonist with a bright smile and a college girl engaged in a playful courtship, accompanied by vibrant songs and dances that could rival a grand festival. However, the serious themes often come off as awkward. Casting Rishi Kapoor as a college professor who secretly engages in terrorism is a questionable choice. While Kapoor is known for his versatility, seeing him in such a role feels out of place.
Incorporating themes of extremism into a college romance is a reckless move. The portrayal of terrorism as a mere plot device is troubling, and Riteish Deshmukh's comedic don character, accompanied by two inept henchmen, adds to the film's annoyance.
Director Vivek Sharma, who previously elicited emotional responses in Bhootnath, fails to evoke any feelings other than impatience in Kal Kissne Dekha.
While it's understandable for a proud father to host a party for his son, the audience feels like unwelcome guests searching for enjoyment amidst unappealing music.
Despite its flaws, the newcomers are visually appealing. Vaishali Sawant stands out with her graceful movements, and Jackky Bhagnani embodies the earnestness of a good-hearted neighbor.
Interestingly, during the filming of Kal Kissne Dekha, Jackky experienced a premonition that saved him from a near-fatal incident.
In a bizarre twist, Jackky, who plays a character with prophetic abilities, narrowly escaped death when a van he had just exited exploded. He recounted the incident, explaining that he felt uneasy in the van and decided to step out just moments before the explosion.
Jackky expressed his discomfort with the van from the start, requesting a change, but the unfortunate event occurred before that could happen. He remarked on the rarity of such an explosion, emphasizing the miraculous nature of his escape.
