Uttarakhand CM Launches Unique Initiatives for Students and River Conservation

Innovative Steps by Uttarakhand's Chief Minister
Uttarakhand's Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, has introduced two groundbreaking initiatives aimed at enhancing education and promoting environmental conservation within the state.
In a remarkable move, the Chief Minister has announced that high school and intermediate examination toppers in each district will have the chance to serve as District Magistrate (DM) and Superintendent of Police (SP) for a day. This initiative aims to provide these exceptional students with valuable administrative experience, boost their self-confidence, and inspire them to reach for greater heights. A comprehensive action plan for implementing this scheme in the districts is currently being developed.
Additionally, the Chief Minister has called for the organization of 'River Festivals' across the state. These festivals, named after the prominent rivers of Uttarakhand, will encourage active participation from the public. The primary objective of this initiative is to foster a movement focused on the cleanliness, rejuvenation, and conservation of rivers.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the rivers are not merely sources of water but are deeply woven into the cultural and lifestyle fabric of the state. Through the 'River Festivals,' the public will be educated about the significance of water conservation and maintaining cleanliness.
This initiative by the Dhami administration not only honors outstanding students but also represents a significant commitment to environmental protection.
