Tata Harrier EV: Launch Details and Impressive Features

Tata Harrier EV Launch Overview
The highly anticipated Tata Harrier EV has officially been launched at a starting price of ₹21.49 lakh. This pricing positions it competitively against rivals like the Creta EV and E-Vitara. Prior to its launch, the Harrier EV was seen undergoing tests while camouflaged. A notable highlight showcased by Tata is the all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, which allows the vehicle to utilize all four wheels when needed or continuously.
Battery Specifications and Range
The Tata Harrier EV will be available with two battery options: a 65 KWH and a 75 KWH variant. The 75 KWH version is expected to deliver a range of approximately 627 km, while the 65 KWH variant will offer around 480 km. Tata has collaborated with several international suppliers to introduce several first-in-segment features. Among these is a new E-propulsion system developed with Schaeffler, providing 304 NM of torque and a boosted mode for enhanced acceleration, reaching up to 340 NM. Additionally, the Harrier will come with a home 7.2 kW charger, and Tata promises a wide network of DC chargers that can add 250 km of range in just 15 minutes.
Innovative Features
Tata has significantly re-engineered the Harrier to include a variety of new features that are first in its segment. The vehicle will be equipped with advanced ADAS features, including a calibrated lower emergency braking speed, allowing it to stop even at low speeds during emergencies. Furthermore, the Harrier boasts a spacious interior designed for comfort and advanced connectivity. Collaborating with Samsung and Harman, Tata has integrated a Samsung Neo QLED screen in the cabin, complemented by 7 JBL speakers.
In addition to these features, Tata has revamped the key system, enabling users to control vehicle access via their smartphones. The new Harrier EV will also include several autonomous driving capabilities, facilitating easy parking and a 'creep mode' that allows the vehicle to approach the driver remotely.
Stealth Edition and Pricing
In line with current trends, Tata will also introduce a stealth edition of the Harrier EV alongside the standard model. While detailed variant pricing has not been disclosed, the introductory price for the Adventure variant is set at ₹21.49 lakh, with bookings starting from July 2.
