Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Seeks Central Assistance for Cyber Security and Infrastructure Development

In a recent meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami addressed critical issues including the establishment of a Cyber Centre of Excellence and the need for disaster relief funding. He highlighted the impact of natural disasters on the state's power infrastructure and sought approval for expanding the Sitarganj Central Jail. The Chief Minister also celebrated the success of the Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit 2023, proposing an investment festival to further boost economic growth. Amit Shah assured support for the proposals, reinforcing the commitment to a 'New India' vision.

In New Delhi, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami engaged in discussions with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, focusing on crucial matters concerning the comprehensive development of Uttarakhand.


Amid rising cyber security threats, the Chief Minister urged the Union Home Minister to sanction ₹63.60 crore for the establishment of a 'Cyber Centre of Excellence' in Dehradun. This center is expected to be instrumental in combating digital crimes, offering specialized training, enhancing cyber forensics, and fostering advanced technological resources.


Addressing Natural Disaster Impact


The Chief Minister also informed the Union Home Minister about the destruction inflicted on the state's power infrastructure due to natural calamities. Given the unique geographical challenges faced by small Himalayan states, he requested that power generation, transmission, and distribution assets be included in the compensation framework of the NDRF/SDRF, which would bolster the state's disaster management capabilities.


Expanding Correctional Facilities

Additionally, the Chief Minister sought swift approval for a proposal amounting to ₹150.16 crore aimed at expanding the Sitarganj Central Jail.


Investment Initiatives and Celebrations

Highlighting the success of the 'Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit 2023', inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister revealed that investment MoUs exceeding ₹3.50 lakh crore were signed. He expressed pride in this achievement and proposed organizing an 'Uttarakhand Investment Festival' in the Pantnagar-Rudrapur industrial area, inviting the Union Home Minister to be the Chief Guest at the event.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah assured that all proposals put forth by the Chief Minister would be met with favorable action. The Chief Minister reiterated the Uttarakhand government's dedication to realizing the vision of a 'New India' under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, emphasizing that the ongoing support from the Central Government is invigorating the state's development efforts.
