Known for his leadership in the automotive sector and his role in the Confederation of Indian Industry, Kapur's legacy will be remembered. Just hours before his death, he expressed condolences for a tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad. Sunjay Kapur's Untimely Passing

Sunjay Kapur, a well-known industrialist and the former spouse of actress Karisma Kapoor, has died in the UK at the age of 53. Reports indicate that he suffered a heart attack while engaging in a game of polo. His last post on social media, shared on June 9, has garnered significant attention from users online. In this post, he reflected on the fleeting nature of life.


The message stated, "Your time on Earth is limited. Leave the 'what ifs' to the philosophers and instead dive headfirst into the 'why nots'." He also added in the caption, "Progress demands bold choices, not perfect conditions."



Just hours before his passing, Kapur expressed his condolences regarding a tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad, stating, "Terrible news of the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad. My thoughts and prayers are with all the families affected. May they find strength in this difficult hour. #planecrash."


Sunjay Kapur was the chairman of Sona Comstar and a significant figure in the automotive sector. He also held the position of Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Northern Region, overseeing operations in several states and Union Territories.


Initially married to designer Nandita Mahtani, their marriage lasted two years before they parted ways. He later married Karisma Kapoor in 2003, with whom he shares two children. They divorced in 2016 but maintained a cooperative parenting relationship. Following his separation from Karisma, he married model Priya Sachdev, and they welcomed a son shortly after their wedding.


In the wake of his death, numerous celebrities, including Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, and Malaika Arora, visited Karisma's residence in Mumbai to offer their support.
