Sunjay Kapur, a well-known industrialist and former spouse of actress Karisma Kapoor, has died at the age of 53 in the United Kingdom. Reports indicate that he suffered a heart attack while engaged in a game of polo. Following the news of his passing, several celebrities, including Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, and Malaika Arora, visited Karisma's residence in Mumbai to offer their condolences.

As the chairman of Sona Comstar, Sunjay Kapur was a significant figure in the automotive sector. He also held the position of Chairman for the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Northern Region, overseeing operations in states such as Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and three Union Territories.

Initially, he was married to designer Nandita Mahtani, but their marriage ended after two years. In 2003, he wed Karisma Kapoor, with whom he had two children. Their marriage concluded in divorce in 2016, yet they maintained a cooperative parenting relationship.
