Rishabh Pant Sets New Record in Test Cricket, Surpassing MS Dhoni
Rishabh Pant Achieves Historic Milestone
On June 21, Rishabh Pant etched his name in cricket history by surpassing Mahendra Singh Dhoni's record for the most centuries by an Indian wicketkeeper in Test matches. Dhoni, who played 90 Tests for India from 2005 to 2014, managed to score six centuries. In contrast, Pant has now achieved seven centuries in his Test career.
Pant is now among the few players in cricket history to score three or more centuries against a single team in one country during Test matches, with all his centuries against England in England. The 27-year-old wicketkeeper-batter reached his century on the 146th ball of his innings, hitting 10 fours and 4 sixes, marking his fourth century against England.
Pant's Test Career Highlights
Pant's latest score of 123 marks his fifth century in 35 World Test Championship matches. Only Rohit Sharma (9) and Shubman Gill (6) have more centuries for India in the WTC.
