NIA Collects Key Evidence in Pahalgam Terror Attack Investigation
Significant Developments in Pahalgam Terror Case
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has compiled a considerable amount of evidence concerning the identities of the terrorists linked to the Pahalgam terror incident, as per an official statement.
This evidence encompasses eyewitness testimonies from victims, video recordings, technical data, and sketches provided by the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Currently, all evidence is under meticulous examination, and no definitive conclusions have been reached. The identities and additional information will be disclosed at an appropriate time.
On June 23, a court in Jammu granted the NIA a five-day remand for two suspects associated with the attack.
The suspects have been identified as Parvaiz Ahmad and Bashir Ahmed, with the next hearing scheduled for June 27, 2025.
Previously, BJP leader Shazia Ilmi expressed her belief that more details regarding the conspiracy, including logistics and intelligence, would soon surface.
Ilmi stated, “Following Operation Sindoor, we have consistently observed how our agencies, particularly the NIA, have been making arrests to reveal the truth. The attack on our nation and its daughters is both shocking and scandalous. I am confident that further information regarding the conspiracy will emerge.”
On April 22, a heinous terrorist attack in the Baisaran meadow of Pahalgam valley resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, primarily tourists. The NIA announced on Sunday that two men have been apprehended for providing shelter to the terrorists.
The NIA reported that the arrested individuals, Parvaiz Ahmad Jothar from Batkote and Bashir Ahmad Jothar from Hill Park in Pahalgam, have revealed the identities of three armed terrorists involved in the attack, confirming their Pakistani nationality and ties to the banned terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
According to the NIA, “Parvaiz and Bashir knowingly sheltered the three armed terrorists in a seasonal hut at Hill Park prior to the attack. They provided food, shelter, and logistical support to the terrorists, who selectively targeted tourists based on their religious identity, making this one of the most brutal terrorist attacks in history.”
