Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder Case: New Developments Uncover Additional Suspects
New Evidence Emerges in Meghalaya Murder Investigation
In the ongoing investigation of the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case, an audio recording has surfaced, revealing a conversation between an eyewitness and Raja's brother, Vipin Raghuvanshi. The eyewitness disclosed that not only Raj Kushwaha but also two other individuals assisted in transporting Sonam from Varanasi to Ghazipur.
The eyewitness recounted seeing Sonam at the Varanasi bus stand, where she appeared calm and was drinking mango juice. This sighting occurred approximately two hours before her surrender in Ghazipur, alongside two boys.
These two boys reportedly assisted Sonam in boarding a bus heading from Varanasi to Gorakhpur around 11:30 PM. A local resident from Saidpur in Ghazipur contacted Vipin Raghuvanshi to inform him about Sonam's whereabouts.
Previously, a senior police official from Uttar Pradesh provided additional information regarding Sonam Raghuvanshi's arrest. The 24-year-old was discovered near a dhaba on the Varanasi-Ghazipur main road on Monday. Following her recovery, she was initially taken to Sadar Hospital for treatment before being moved to the Sakhi One Stop Centre, as stated by ADG Law and Order, Uttar Pradesh, Amitabh Yash.
It is important to note that Raja Raghuvanshi and his wife, Sonam, both from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, had gone missing during their honeymoon in Meghalaya. Raja's body was later discovered in a gorge at Sohrarim near Cherrapunji on June 2. The couple was married on May 11 and began their honeymoon on May 20, with their last known sighting on May 23, when their phone was turned off later that evening.
