IndiGo Airlines Travel Advisory

On Tuesday, IndiGo Airlines released a travel advisory confirming that its flight services to and from Gulf nations have returned to normal operations.

However, the airline cautioned travelers about potential delays on certain international routes due to ongoing airspace limitations over Iran.

In a message shared on X, IndiGo stated, “Flight operations into, out of, and through the Gulf countries have stabilised and are functioning as scheduled.”

Despite the stabilisation, the airline noted that some flights might still face delays or changes in routes due to the restricted airspace over Iran. The advisory mentioned, “As airspace over Iran remains restricted, some flights may take alternate routes, which could result in longer travel times.”

Passengers are encouraged to keep a close eye on their flight status to stay updated on any last-minute changes or delays.

IndiGo reassured travelers of their support throughout the journey, stating, “We recommend monitoring your flight status for the latest updates. We are here to assist you and ensure a smooth travel experience.”

“Thank you for your continued understanding and trust as we work to bring you safely to your destination,” the advisory concluded.

Earlier today, operations at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport faced significant disruptions, with 48 flight cancellations reported for both arrivals and departures, as per airport sources.

Among the disrupted services, 28 were incoming flights and 20 were outgoing, with national carrier Air India and low-cost operator IndiGo experiencing the most significant impact.

Air India reported 17 cancellations for arrivals and 10 for departures, totaling 27 flights. IndiGo followed with eight cancellations for arrivals and seven for departures, amounting to 15 flights. Other airlines, including international carriers, also saw three arrivals and three departures cancelled.

This situation arose following a notable escalation in the region after Iran launched multiple missiles targeting US military bases in Qatar and Iraq, including the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest US military facility in the area, according to reports.

The missile strikes were perceived as a retaliatory action by Iran in response to US airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear sites—Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow—earlier on Sunday.
