IMD Weather LIVE Updates: Several regions are currently facing severe weather conditions due to western disturbances. Over the last 24 hours, rain accompanied by thunderstorms has affected Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram, and Tripura. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has released a new alert indicating the possibility of further rainfall in various areas.
Regions anticipated to experience heavy rainfall include Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana on June 3rd, as well as Kerala and Mahe from June 3rd to 4th. The IMD noted, “The Northern Limit of Monsoon is currently passing through coordinates 17.0°N/55°E, 17.5°N/60°E, 18°N/65°E, 18.5°N/70°E, Mumbai, Ahilyanagar, Adilabad, Bhawanipatna, Puri, Sandhead Island, 23.5°N/89.5°E, Balurghat, and 30°N/85°E.”
Additionally, West Rajasthan is expected to experience dust storms until June 5th. Commuters in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, and Jharkhand should prepare for potential delays and traffic disruptions due to the rain. Those planning to travel to these areas are advised to adjust their travel arrangements accordingly. The Weather Body has also issued a warning for thundersquall winds, which may reach speeds of 50-60 km/h, potentially gusting up to 70 km/h over West Madhya Pradesh on June 3rd and 4th.
Furthermore, hot and humid conditions are predicted to persist in Odisha until June 6th, and in Gangetic West Bengal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal during June 3rd and 4th.
