Air India Crash: Following the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has taken significant measures. The regulatory body has ordered the dismissal of three Air India employees due to negligence in safety protocols. This decision comes shortly after the incident, which resulted in the loss of nearly 270 lives, including crew members, passengers, and individuals on the ground.

Immediate Action on Safety Negligence

On June 21, the DGCA instructed Air India to terminate the services of three employees responsible for recent safety lapses. Following the Ahmedabad incident, the DGCA has been conducting an ongoing investigation, revealing that the negligence of certain staff members impacted the safety systems. This action by the DGCA aims to prevent similar accidents in the future.

CEO's Assurance on Aircraft Safety

Just a day before the DGCA's decision, Air India's CEO and Managing Director, Campbell Wilson, reassured passengers and staff that the airline's entire fleet is safe. He stated that all Boeing 787 aircraft underwent thorough inspections as per DGCA directives, meeting all necessary standards. In his statement, Wilson mentioned, "We have completed additional checks on all Boeing 787s at the request of the DGCA, which confirmed that our aircraft comply with the required standards." He further added, "As a precaution, we have decided to conduct extra inspections before flights for some time. If there are any doubts regarding an aircraft, it will not be cleared for takeoff."
