Sunjay Kapur's Untimely Demise
Sunjay Kapur, a well-known industrialist and former spouse of actress Karisma Kapoor, has died in London at the age of 53. His unexpected passing has left his friends and family in shock. The funeral is scheduled to take place in Delhi today, following delays attributed to citizenship matters.
The cremation rites were conducted at the Lodhi Road Cremation Ground in New Delhi, where Karisma and their children, Samaira and Kiaan, gathered to pay their last respects.
A video from the funeral has circulated online, featuring Karisma dressed in a white suit as she laid a floral tribute for her late ex-husband. Samaira and Kiaan were by her side during this poignant moment, along with several family members.
On June 22, a prayer meeting is set to occur at the Taj Palace Hotel in Delhi from 4 to 5 PM.
Earlier that day, Karisma was spotted with her children at a private airport in Mumbai, heading to Delhi. Shortly after, Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan were also seen making their way to Delhi to support the grieving family.
Sunjay Kapur held the position of chairman at Sona Comstar and was a significant figure in the automotive sector. He also served as the Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Northern Region, overseeing operations in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and three Union Territories.
For those unfamiliar, Sunjay and Karisma were married in 2003 and had two children together. They divorced in 2016 but maintained a cooperative parenting relationship.
