Housefull 5 Hits Theatres
The much-anticipated film Housefull 5 has finally premiered in cinemas, generating significant buzz with its two distinct endings. The movie is performing impressively at the box office and is on track to surpass the ₹100 crore milestone. Set aboard a luxurious cruise liner, the plot unfolds after a billionaire's death, leaving his wealth to a man named Jolly, leading to three individuals claiming to be him. This twist places them and their partners at the center of the investigation.
Box Office Collection on Day 3
As reported by industry sources, Housefull 5 garnered ₹32 crore on its third day, bringing its total earnings to ₹87 crore within just three days.
Unique Storytelling with Two Versions
The filmmakers have introduced two versions of Housefull 5, each featuring different conclusions. Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff portray police officers tasked with solving the mysterious murders aboard the ship. In version ‘A’, Abhishek Bachchan, playing Jalbhushan, is revealed as the murderer alongside Fardeen Khan's character, Dev.
Conversely, the alternate version unveils Chitrangda Singh, as Maya, as the accomplice in the crime with Abhishek Bachchan. The narrative takes a twist as the characters claiming to be Jolly are exposed as impostors, with Bobby Deol making a special appearance as the genuine Jolly.
A Look Back at Similar Strategies
Housefull 5 is not the first Indian film to employ this dual-version strategy. The 1998 Malayalam film Harikrishnans also adopted this approach, achieving remarkable success. Featuring stars like Mohanlal and Mammootty alongside Juhi Chawla, it generated considerable excitement, aiming to please fans of both leading actors through its love triangle storyline.

The film features a stellar cast, including Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, and Riteish Deshmukh in leading roles. Supporting performances come from Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Shreyas Talpade, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Dino Morea, Chunky Pandey, and Johnny Lever. The leading ladies include Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Chitrangada Singh, Sonam Bajwa, and Soundarya Sharma.
