Aadhaar Card Update: Free Service Available Until June 14, 2025
Aadhaar Card Update Deadline Approaches
If you haven't yet updated your Aadhaar card, it's important to note that the complimentary update service will only be available until June 14, 2025. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) had previously announced that Aadhaar holders can make updates without any charges before this date.
As per the Aadhaar Enrolment and Update Regulations of 2016, individuals are required to refresh their Proof of Identity (PoI) and Proof of Address (PoA) every decade from their enrolment date.
Consequences of Missing the Deadline
Post-deadline, you can still modify your Aadhaar details, but a fee will be applicable. To benefit from the free update, ensure your Aadhaar is updated before June 14. Furthermore, individuals must visit an Aadhaar center in person to make these changes.
If you haven't updated your Aadhaar information in the last ten years, you can do so at no cost via the myAadhaar website, avoiding the usual ₹50 fee and the need to visit an Aadhaar center. The online procedure is straightforward and efficient.
